About the role
As an Applications Engineer you will serve as the technical bridge between the technical team and its clients, ensuring the successful implementation, integration, and optimization of technical solutions. Your role involves understanding customer needs, configuring and deploying applications, resolving technical challenges, and providing ongoing support to maximize system performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, deliver training and documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of products and services. This position offers a dynamic environment where technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer-focused communication are key to success.
Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy software applications to meet customers’ needs.
- Lead the analysis and troubleshooting of the installed system base, ensuring timely resolution, both remotely and at customer’s premises when necessary.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations, proof of concepts (PoC), product demonstrations, and training sessions to customers and partners. Participate in technical conferences.
- Provide Technical expertise and support to the sales team, in addressing inquiries related to the technology and its deployment.
- Work closely with internal teams, including R&D and product management, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in industry, technologies and trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications Engineering or Computer Science.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an international environment.
- Networking: Strong foundation in TCP / IP, routing, and switching.
- CLI Proficiency: Expertise in managing network devices via SSH and the command line.
- Network Management: Hands-on experience with NETCONF and SNMP.
- Security: Solid understanding of PKI, TLS, and practical experience implementing mTLS.
- Systems: Proficient in Linux / Unix environments with scripting skills (Python / Bash).
- Hardware: Experience with physical installation and setup of rack-mounted telecom hardware.
- Practical experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting (memory, CPU, networking).
- Familiar with virtualization and containerization technologies (KVM, VirtualBox, Docker).
- Security Plus: Knowledge of IPsec, VPNs, and firewalls is highly valued.
- Communication: Ability to conduct technical training and support Proof-of-Concept (PoC) demos.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in Spanish and English (knowledge of any additional EU language is a plus).
- This position includes occasional travelling (up to 20% of the working time).
