Your role

As Head of Global Modelling & Methods you are responsible for quantitative modelling activities within the RWE Renewables Commercial area including developing, running and maintaining a range of consistent and best-in-class renewables and energy storage portfolio optimisation, risk analysis, pricing and forecasting models, covering all RWE Renewables markets in Americas, EU and APAC (Asia Pacific). The responsibility also covers the support for auctions across the globe.

Your tasks

• Conceptualizing, developing and managing a Renewables Portfolio Model and based on this delivering RWE level portfolio steering (in close collaboration with other RWE functions)
• Leading the development of bespoke models for the Commercial Analysis team and other Commercial functions in the Group covering various aspects such as optimal asset sizing, dispatch, imbalance models
• Prototyping, developing, maintaining repositories, documenting, and approving modelling to be used by Commercial Analysis
• Leading on evaluation and governance over PPA pricing from renewables assets
• Modelling bid price option space and derive bid strategy (in collaboration with regional Commercial Analysis teams)
• Analysing support and auction schemes and leading on auction execution (if required)

Your profile

• At least 10 years’ experience in the energy sector, including methodology, modelling and Quants (stats) experience
• Knowledge of commodity markets, traded financial instruments, operation of spot/balancing markets, green certificates markets.
• Commercial acumen/experience in Commodity Trading environment
• Software development (Python, C++, C, Rust, VBA) and Database Management (relational and other) experience
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in RWE Markets
• Languages: English mandatory, additional languages an advantage
