An international scientific institute in Berlin seeks a part-time Scientist for a PhD position specializing in feline reproduction and endocrinology. Responsibilities include sample collection, hormone measurements, and statistical analysis. Applicants should have a degree in Veterinary Medicine/Sciences and be fluent in English and Spanish/Portuguese. This position offers flexibility and an engaging academic environment.
The Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) seeks to understand and, where possible, improve the adaptive capacity of wild animals to cope with global change. The Institute focuses on the diversity of lifestyles, diseases and mechanisms of evolutionary adaptation of mammals and birds, the limits of these mechanisms in natural and anthropogenically influenced environments, and conservation strategies that take these factors into account. It fulfils this mission through long-term, application-oriented, interdisciplinary basic research in evolutionary ecology, ecological dynamics, evolutionary genetics, wildlife diseases, reproductive biology and reproductive management.
For our Department of Reproduction Biology, we are seeking to appoint a Scientist (f/m/div), PhD position, part time (65%) for an international cooperation project in the field of feline reproduction and endocrinology.
The position will be filled preferably by December 1, 2025 and is initially limited to 3 years.
We welcome applications regardless of gender, origin, sexual orientation or religion. Disabled persons will be given preferential consideration in case of equal suitability. The IZW supports diversity, equity and inclusion in line with the Charta der Vielfalt and Total-E-Quality principles.
