Job summary
A global recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Base Metals Trader to drive physical trading activities across European markets. - Develop and execute trading strategies for a portfolio of base metals (e.g., copper, aluminium, zinc, nickel) with full P&L accountability.
- Originate and maintain strong relationships with producers, smelters, consumers, and financial institutions across Europe to grow trading flows.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, including arbitrage, structured deals, and long-term contracts.
- Manage risk exposure by implementing effective hedging strategies and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts and optimize profitability.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in physical base metals trading with demonstrable track record of profitability.
- Strong commercial network across European metals markets and established relationships with key industry participants.
- In-depth knowledge of global and regional supply chains, pricing dynamics, and LME-related trading instruments.
- Expertise in risk management, hedging, and compliance within the base metals sector.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, excellent negotiations skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
