VP of Finance | Private Equity–Backed B2B SaaS

About the Role

Camino Search is partnering with a leading private equity fund specialising in software investments to appoint a high‑calibre Head of Finance. This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance leader who has a proven track record of building and scaling finance functions, introducing structure, and supporting rapid growth with a clear path to exit.

You will work closely with the executive team and investors, acting as a strategic partner while remaining hands‑on in driving financial excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Define and execute the financial strategy in line with ambitious growth plans and long‑term exit objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, board, and investors.
Exit Readiness & Value Creation
  • Lead financial due diligence, valuation preparation, and exit execution.
  • Ensure the business is consistently “exit‑ready” from a financial, reporting, and governance perspective.
Private Equity Partnership
  • Leverage prior PE experience to manage investor relationships and deliver high‑quality insights and reporting.
  • Support board‑level decision‑making with clear, data‑driven analysis.
  • Own accurate, timely, and robust financial reporting in line with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Strengthen controls, compliance, and financial discipline across the organisation.
Operational Excellence
  • Design, implement, and optimise financial systems, processes, and controls to drive efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
  • Support commercial decision‑making through strong financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong Financial Expertise: Deep experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Strategic yet Hands‑On: Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels in a scaling environment.
  • PE Experience: Prior experience in private equity–backed businesses or transaction‑led environments is highly desirable.
