VIE - Germany - Procurement Project Manager / Mission Systems & Weapons - H/F (d/f/m)

In order to support the strategic Procurement for Mission Systems & Weapons, Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) to support us in the strategic Procurement for Mission Systems & Weapons.

Location: Donauwörth

Start: as soon as possible

Duration: 24 months

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) program is an international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function. We are looking for highly motivated graduates aged 18 to 28 years, who are citizens of the European Union (all EU nationals, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

• Act as the focal point within the department for procurement-wide project activities.

• Engage in the regular business processes of strategic procurement, e.g. for operations planning, price updating, etc.

• Identify process improvement needs and run associated improvement projects.

• Create a reporting system accounting for the campaign-driven business in the Mission Systems & Weapons perimeter.

• Take over special procurement activities, e.g. for research and development projects.

• Contribute to sourcing activities, incl. the support of tendering and the contract negotiation to achieve the best purchasing conditions in accordance with company requirements.

• Monitor contracts (during innovation, development, serial and support phases) with suppliers and company stakeholders to achieve through out the contract life cycle a complete application of terms and conditions to ensure that the suppliers deliver the expected performance in all dimensions (logistics, support, quality, cost, ...).

• Support the day-to-day relationships with suppliers and run projects to optimize customer value, while minimizing total cost of ownership & risks.

• Support establishment and updating of the product and sourcing strategies within the multi-functional teams of the Mission Systems & Weapons perimeter.

This role will involve some travel for business approximately once a month in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

• Educated to master's degree level (or equivalent) in engineering, economics, business administration, procurement, law or an equivalent field of study.

• First practical experience in procurement, project and contract management, business and financial management, sales, etc. (apprenticeships and internships included)

• Technical understanding and knowledge of the aeronautics business are a plus

• Experience in working with international partners

• Agile use of IT tools: SAP, MS Office / Google Suite, etc.

• High social competencies, teamwork, and communication skills

• Proactive, persistent and logical approach to new challenges

• Language Skills: Negotiation level of English; French and German are a plus.
