Aktos is hiring a Platform Engineer for our team!

As we build the foundation for SRE at Aktos, this person will play a critical role in shaping our infrastructure and operational excellence, in addition to being a full backend software engineer. Leveraging technologies such as Kubernetes, Postgres, and AWS, they will build tools that enable our engineers to create performant, scalable, and resilient applications. Since we are a small team, they will be a 70% backend engineer and 30% SRE, handling backend feature work and integrations.

Who You Are

Backend Engineer Expertise:

• Python/Django (Django required)
• Python + DB Performance optimization
• API / SFTP Integrations (must have experience)
• Feature Development experience

DevOps/SRE Expertise:

• Comfortable with AWS, Maintaining EKS (Kubernetes on AWS)

DevOps/SRE Skills:

• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Github Actions, AWS, Postgres, Redis
• Experience with DevOps keywords on resume is preferred, even if not titled as DevOps/SRE

Comfortable with:

• Scalable & Maintainable Backend Feature Development
• Scalable & Maintainable API/SFTP Integrations
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Postgres DB (indexes, partitioning/sharding)
• Maintaining developer environments
• Managing CI pipelines and runners
• Setting up and managing alerting systems
• Providing on-call support and guidance to other developers

Impact and Expectations:

• Contribute to KPIs such as system uptime, performance, and compliance
• Lead initiatives to improve infrastructure and operational practices within 6-12 months
