Support us as of now until June 30, 2027, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of Machine Learning in Battery and Semiconductor Research.

The position is part of the third-party funded project: "EFRE Innovationslabor Prozessdiagnostik für energieeffiziente und ressourcenschonende Technologien” of the Junior Research Group of Dr. Janis Kevin Eckhardt at the Center for Materials Research. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).

Your tasks at a glance
  • Development and application of data mining methods to extract information from large datasets
  • Development of simulation models for process diagnostics of electrochemical energy storage systems and semiconductor electronics
  • Participating in and advising the setup of experimental model systems to validate simulation results
  • Development of optimization strategies for electrochemical energy storage systems and semiconductor devices
  • Preparation of scientific publications, participation in (inter)national conferences and project meetings
Your qualifications and competences
  • Completed academic university degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, computer science or data science (M.Sc., diploma, first state examination or equivalent degree)
  • Completed PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, computer science or data science
  • Self-reliance and self-organization in work
  • Excellent English skills and strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Previous experience in data science, machine learning and statistical analysis for data mining is a plus
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, C++, R, Matlab, or similar
  • Interest in interdisciplinary work on electrochemical energy storage systems and semiconductor electronics
