Overview
We are seeking a (Junior) Technical Investment Manager (m/w/d) at our German location in Berlin for the Living asset class.
Your Mission
As a (Junior) Technical Investment Manager, you will oversee the technical and strategic development of our Living portfolio in Germany. You will gradually take on more responsibility in identifying, evaluating, and implementing value-add measures and develop your expertise in ESG-compliant portfolio development. You will work closely with our experienced team and various partners to realize sustainable value increases.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ESG and investment strategies for residential real estate, considering current market trends and sustainability standards.
- Support the management of CAPEX measures, modernization, and renovation projects focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Lead technical due diligence processes during acquisitions and sales, and prepare technical evaluations.
- Manage complex construction projects.
- Implement systematic quality and risk management for all technical measures.
- Coordinate external service providers (e.g., property managers, architects, engineers, construction controllers).
- Manage budget planning, cost control, and technical KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with market stakeholders (e.g., authorities, planners, construction companies).
- Collaborate closely with internal departments (investment, asset, and fund management).
- Prepare reports for investors and committees.
Qualifications
- Technical degree in architecture, civil engineering, real estate management, or a comparable qualification (e.g., technician, master).
- At least 2 years of professional experience in technical asset management, investment management, or similar roles in real estate investment, consulting, or project development—preferably with a focus on residential properties.
- Basic to solid knowledge of ESG, EU taxonomy, energy efficiency standards, sustainable building, and regulatory requirements (building law, tenancy law, GEG).
- Experience managing larger construction projects (up to EUR 2.5 million) and conducting technical due diligence and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., BIM, PropTech).
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills for various stakeholder groups.
- Experience leading project teams.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic networks in the real estate industry.
- Self-reliant, solution-oriented, and structured working style.
- Fluent in German and very good English skills; additional languages are a plus.
