Job Description

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Quality Cabin Inspector to join our team based in Mobile, AL.

Meet the team

You will be part of a team delivering quality inspections. As part of the production process team, you will be involved in production aiming at aircraft structural assemblies and components.

Nearby on Airbus Way you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your challenges
  • Implement technical inspections in production of the aircraft within the authorization of manufacturer operation
  • Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements
  • Detail the technical inspections performed in FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP production orders and relevant IT systems by inspection remarks; prepare first article inspection reports
  • Support fixing, FTPs and participate in Quality Survey requests
  • Compile all technical data of non-conformances to launch NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for professional assessment per manufacturing engineering documentation
Your boarding pass
  • High school diploma / GED
  • 3 years of confirmed experience with emphasis on structural components and assemblies
  • Preferred quality and manufacturing experience in cabin installation
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line
  • Handling and use of inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, optical, electrical)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English in a multicultural and multifunctional environment
Physical Requirements
  • Vision: Able to read computer screens, documents, reports and engineering drawings
  • Hearing: Able to participate in conversations and hear safety warnings or alarms
  • Speaking: Able to communicate clearly in meetings and discussions
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate office and production tools and access control systems
  • Carrying/Lifting: Able to lift up to 30 lbs / 14 kg
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to move small office furniture and equipment
  • Sitting: Able to sit for long periods
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to retrieve or replace items on low shelving
  • Standing: Able to stand for discussions on/off the production floor
  • Travel: Able to travel independently and on short notice
