Project Scheduler

Location: Ottawa, ON, CA, K1P 5E7; Victoria, British Columbia, CA, V8Z 0B9; Halifax, Nova Scotia, CA, B3B 1E6

Onsite or Hybrid

Expected Salary: $67,021 to $83,776

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with Project Managers (PMs) to establish and maintain program and project schedules in Primavera P6.
  • Participate in setting and monitoring the performance measurement baseline of projects varying in size and complexity.
  • Monitor schedule adherence during the project lifecycle and assist with recovery plan development to protect the critical path.
  • Develop and maintain suitable metrics and reports such as: s-curves, resource lookaheads, cost profiles, etc.
  • Prepare scheduled what-if scenarios, providing analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Gather data and provide updates to project schedules to produce reliable, informed schedule forecasts.
  • Assist Program and Project Managers and the Sustainment PMO Manager to convey project data and information to all members of the project team and senior leadership in a timely manner that will support the decision-making process.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Projects Controls measures and metrics.
  • Perform other duties as required.

The ideal candidate brings:

  • A bachelor’s degree, college diploma or certificate in Project or Business Management or other relevant field of study, with more than four years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Experience with conducting Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis, using software such as Safran Risk.
  • Experience in gathering, maintaining, reporting, and analyzing schedule data.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to understand and adhere to procedures and policies.
  • The ability to work with precision and accuracy, demonstrating excellent attention-to-detail and excellent record keeping skills.
  • The ability to identify and implement innovative administrative solutions to increase efficiencies.
  • Good judgment and a high level of confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to function in a self-directed manner in a team environment, including personal workload management (organizing and prioritizing) with a focus on meeting deadlines in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with subject matter experts, colleagues, and users.
  • Project Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification (an asset).
  • Experience working with the Department of National Defence (DND) and/or Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) (an asset).
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
