We are currently accepting applications for English Language Learner (ELL) Instructor . Under the supervision of the Principal and under the direction of the classroom teacher(s), the English Language Learner (ELL) Instructor is responsible for the provision of support to students trying to acquire English language skills within the school. The ELL Instructor supports teachers and other professional staff by instructing individuals and groups of students in an academic and/or integrated class environment, supporting social and academic integration as well as assisting the teacher with classroom management, when required. The Instructor works collaboratively within a team environment and assists the classroom teacher or LRT in the implementation of learning assessments (e.g. STEP) and individual educational plans.

Hours of Work: 9:00 - 3:30 pm

Location: Vanier PS - Monday and Wednesdays

Swift Waters Elementary School - Thursdays

Westminster PS - Tuesdays and Fridays

Qualifications and Experience:

• A two- year college diploma in child studies or a related educational field is required.
• Previous English Second Language instruction is preferred.
• Related employment or volunteer experience in teaching, social work or immigration services is an asset.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• TESL qualifications are an asset.

Selection Process:

Applicants selected for an interview will be invited to attend a virtual live interview via Microsoft Teams. Interviews typically include a panel of two (2) Hiring Managers.
