Role Overview
Teck’s Legacy Properties (TLP) Team manages legacy properties across over 30 mine sites in Canada and one in Australia. TLP’s tailings engineering team is responsible for stewardship at 9 of these sites, which have storage facilities for tailings and/or water under active care closure, as defined by the Canadian Dam Association.
Reporting to TLP’s Senior Lead Tailings Engineer, the Senior Engineer, Tailings & Mine Waste is responsible for ongoing tailings storage facility stewardship at select sites in British Columbia, as well as supporting TLP's overall priorities and projects across the portfolio. Teck requires that all tailings storage facilities and water retaining structures have an assigned Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE).
This position can be based out of Vancouver or Kimberley, BC and is suitable for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is willing to travel to sites within Canada. It is crucial that the successful candidate wholly embraces Teck’s health and safety culture and at no time puts safety as a secondary priority in any work undertaken.
Pay Range: CAD $119,000 - $147,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
