Position Summary

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our health care team. If you are a conscientious and well‑organized professional, with a strong commitment to the care and well‑being of others, don’t miss out on this rewarding opportunity!

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, and as directed by the Regional Manager Student Practice Education, this position provides clinical mentorship and education support within the Student Practice Education portfolio throughout Northern Health, which includes student placements, the Employed Student Nurse (ESNs) program, the New Graduate Transition program, and Specialty Education. In collaboration with the Education & Development team, Clinical Nurse Educators (CNEs) and operational leadership, the Clinical Lead Student Practice Education is responsible for leading, planning, developing, and facilitating organization‑wide education and support for NH staff and supporting onboarding/orientation programs for new graduates, practicum students, ESNs, new graduates, and specialty education learners. The position serves as a clinical resource for student practice and coordinates in‑service programs aimed to meet the unique education needs of new graduates, students, and ESNs.

Shift Rotation / Hours of work

Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Minimum four years' clinical experience.
  • Formalised education and minimum two years of formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Knowledge integration: Using factual information, prior learning and basic principles and procedures to support decisions and actions with relevant research‑based evidence.   • Communication – Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written and computer communication.
  • Critical thinking – Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem‑solve effectively.
  • Management – Manages time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others, supervising responsibilities of others, collaboration across disciplines and related activities.

  • Assessment & intervention – Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing education assessments and provide education through various learning methods.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilise computer technology.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
