We offer an extensive array of comprehensive engineering design and design/build services encompassing power system engineering, design-build services for utilities, joint use and telecommunication design, traffic and transportation engineering, and renewable energy systems. These services cater to a diverse range of clients, including electric utility companies, developers, builders, commercial and industrial businesses, mining companies, government, and private contractors. We have an opening for a Project Manager in our Mississauga office who will oversee the end-to-end process for Development projects when it comes to electrical and utility infrastructure. You will be responsible for business development, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, while ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage developer driven projects concerning electrical distribution and utility distribution designs, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to create and refine distribution system designs, ensuring feasibility, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop Business Development plans with developers for future growth.
  • Look at other value-added services and collaboration with different departments for clients.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of permits, approvals, and documentation for distribution design projects.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Monitor project progress, adjust schedules, and manage project scope to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and clients, with a focus on distribution design best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of electrical distribution system design principles, electrical engineering, and related regulatory standards such as the Distribution System Code and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing electrical distribution and/or development projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong proficiency with project management software.
  • Strong proficiency with the development process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Assets:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on distribution design (preferred).
  • Experience with specific distribution design software/tools, e.g., AutoCAD, ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to distribution design.
  • Experience in managing large-scale or complex distribution system projects.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
