Job Description

Looking for a F/T person or a flexible P/T person for small accounting firm, office currently located downtown Vancouver. It could be F/T or P/T, depending on the person and what they are looking for. Looking for a long term employee.

ONLY candidates with Canadian Public Practice (Accounting Firm) experience please. At least 5 years working for a CPA accounting firm doing accounting and tax.

An accounting designation is not required, however, candidates should have an equivalent of solid intermediate/senior level experience. Candidates should be willing to work on all facets of files and help out as needed generally speaking. I am a small firm and want someone with a hands-on approach that is happy working for a small firm. That includes everything on a file from start to finish generally speaking. Duties include, or could include, tasks such as:

- Year-end working paper file and financial statement preparation.

- Bookkeeping for year-end files.

- Preparation of related year end schedules, documents, completion documents, etc.

- T2 Corporation tax returns.

- T1 Personal tax returns.

- T4, T5, T3 and other tax and information filings if needed.

- Researching of accounting or tax topics, and looking things up as needed.

- A variety of other tasks where assistance might be needed and other client project work as it may come up.

Must have various years of work experience in Canada and fully understand and have a good grasp on our tax system (ie: corporate tax, personal tax, GST, Payroll tax, PST, etc), and in particular, a good 5 years of experience working for a CPA accounting firm.

Candidates should be bright, pro-active, super easy to work with but very hard working, easy going, honest, trustworthy, reliable and have the attitude of wanting to be able to lend a helping hand where it is needed. Someone that understands the meaning of team effort, especially in a small firm environment.

Experience with Caseware and Caseview, Excel, Word, Quickbooks and Sage and tax preparation software.

This is an In-Office position only. NO remote work opportunity exists at this time.
