The Casual Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for residents in accordance with food safety standards, dietary requirements, and resident preferences. Day-to-day tasks include menu preparation, food storage, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The candidate will work collaboratively with the care team to meet resident nutritional needs and contribute to a positive dining experience. This is an on-site role located in Simcoe, ON, offering a flexible schedule for casual employment.
- Proficiency in meal preparation, food handling, and safe kitchen practices
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines, nutrition, and food safety standards
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and residents
- Previous experience in a healthcare, senior living, or food service environment is an asset
- Formal culinary training or relevant certifications (e.g., Safe Food Handling Certificate)
