Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Tasks: Repair, build and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear. Supervise and direct activities of other medical technologists or technicians. Assemble or build prosthetic and orthotic appliances according to drawings, measurements and plaster casts. Plan menus and diet for individuals or groups under direction of dietition or nutritionist. Assist in supervising personnel who prepare and serve food. Bill third party insurers. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Help patients complete menus. Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products. Assist dietitians with research in food, nutrition and food service systems. Clean and restore ocular prostheses. Interpret physician's specification. Advise patients on loss of depth perception. Supervision: 3-4 people. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
