A leading healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide in Calgary to provide ongoing client care and support. The ideal candidate will hold a High School diploma and a recognized Health Care Aide certification, possess strong communication skills, and be physically capable of handling client needs. This part-time temporary position offers opportunities within a dynamic healthcare team dedicated to patient wellbeing.
Position Status: Temporary Part Time. Term Ends: March 31, 2027. Location: Sarcee, ALC BW. Hours: 5 2.70. FTE: 0.6 8. Shift: Days/Nights. Shift Times: 0700-1515/2300-0715. Union: AUPE Aux Nursing. Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02. PCN: 22ALCHCA10. Date Competition Closes: September 10, 2025.
Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Director of Care, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes in client status are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
This position delivers prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care and Carewest policies this position maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other related duties as required.
ALC - short-stay beds for clients who may no longer require the resources of acute or sub-acute care but who do require care and support while they await an appropriate living option.
