A regional healthcare provider in Durham Region is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Float Pool. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team. Candidates must hold a Registered Nurse Degree, be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and have recent medical-surgical experience. Reporting to Manager of Staffing Resource Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for personal patient care, vital signs, physical assessment, administration of medications, monitoring IV's, monitoring telemetry (if CC1 prepared), setting up medical equipment as appropriate and other duties as assigned. The RN will participate as a member of the Float Pool, Multidisciplinary Team and the Nursing Team at the Oshawa and Whitby site on Healthy Aging program units. As an individual practitioner, the nurse will maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining the health record according to hospital policy, procedure and standards.
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
