Job summary

A senior living community in Fort Saskatchewan is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care and support for residents. You'll collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere, oversee personal support workers, and ensure assessment and care plans are effectively administered. Ideal candidates will be in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta and possess skills in risk identification and positive environment fostering. Qualifications

  • In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
  • Experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry is an asset.
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care according to policy and residents' care plans.
  • Ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for residents.
  • Oversee resident care and communicate regularly with families.
  • Supervise Personal Support Workers on the unit.
  • Conduct admissions and ongoing assessments for residents.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the XXXXX team and impact in the following ways:

  • Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
  • Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
  • Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
  • Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
  • Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
  • Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents
Who you are:
  • In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
  • An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
  • You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
