Introduction

We are seeking a Service Centre Supervisor to join our Repairs & Service Operations team. You will be responsible for supervising the production process to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, on budget, on schedule, and to OEM quality standards, which involves resource management, production planning, and capacity optimization. Your role plays a crucial part in delivering high‑quality repair services and maintaining operational excellence, which will contribute to customer satisfaction and profitability. In this position, you will report to the Service Centre Manager. This position is mainly located in Montreal, Canada, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

Team you belong to

You will join a team of repair and service professionals dedicated to ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production operations. We are currently working on repair execution projects, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as planning and estimation teams, quality managers, workshops, and vendors. Our team culture is all about safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in various regions across North America.

What you’ll do
  • Supervise all activities and resources in the Service Centre, including performance management and capacity optimization.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative and Metso HSE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe production facility incorporating lean practices.
  • Ensure all production activities meet Metso quality standards and specifications in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
  • Oversee repairs production processes, ensuring adherence to Metso procedures and proper use of digital tools (RMS, SAP).
  • Assess repair jobs and prepare resource requirements, budgets, and schedules with the Planning & Estimation Manager.
  • Create and organize shop floor production schedules and manage resource capacity.
  • Monitor production activities, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Report repair production status and estimate‑to‑complete (ETC) for each job.
Who you are
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills in a workshop or production environment.
  • Knowledge of production management, performance evaluation, and budgeting concepts.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and decision‑making skills with a results‑driven approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
  • Nice‑to‑have: Experience with lean manufacturing practices and repair service operations.
What's in it for you
  • An inspiring purpose – Enabling sustainable modern life. Minerals and metals are the backbone of essential functions in the modern world. However, there's a pressing need for more sustainable solutions to collect and process them. At Metso, you get to be part of transforming the industry and making a positive change.
  • Wellbeing and safety – Benefit from occupational healthcare, generous benefits plan, healthy living rewards, mental well‑being services, and engagement surveys.
  • Compensation and rewards – Global incentive program tied to business and performance targets, car benefits, and meal benefits.
  • Hybrid working possibilities – While we are big advocates of meeting and collaborating in person, we believe in fostering a flexible work environment.
  • A thriving culture – We are committed to developing an inclusive culture that enables everyone to do their best and reach their full potential. A culture that is courageous, compelling, and caring, and unites our people to build a sustainable future together.
  • Extensive learning opportunities – Ongoing growth dialogues, internal mobility, mentoring programs, education assistance, ambitious projects, and global opportunities.
