A leading food solutions provider in Canada is seeking a Community Development Project Specialist to drive project momentum and engage with Indigenous communities. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills while managing 40+ accounts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and will travel 25-40% of the time to support community meetings and events. A competitive salary package ranging from 60-80k CAD based on experience is offered, with additional On Target Earnings (OTE). This position allows for remote work with occasional on-site visits.
Growcer is the world's largest provider of indoor, modular vertical farm solutions, working with communities and organizations across North America to grow and store food year-round anywhere. Recently, we acquired Freight Farms, bringing together two category leaders to expand our footprint, deepen our expertise, and strengthen the support network available to our customers.
By partnering with municipalities, First Nations and Indigenous communities, Tribal Nations, and other community organizations in Canada and the USA, we empower year-round sustainable food production and storage and strengthen food sovereignty. To date, we've launched more than 900 projects globally. Our holistic approach includes planning solutions, fundraising, food infrastructure, commissioning support, training programs, capacity-building programs (such as our popular "Rootcamps"), and ongoing support services—enabling communities to achieve lasting impact. Growcer's work has been recognized with awards, including Fast Company's World Changing Ideas and the Entrepreneurs' Organization, and was featured on Season 13 of CBC's Dragons' Den.
The Growcer team acknowledges that we work with many Territories and Treaty areas, and we are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are with us today, those who have gone before us, and the youth who inspire us.
We recognize the land and the benefits it provides all of us, as an act of Reconciliation, as recommended by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) 94 Calls to Action, and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on, work on, or are visiting.
Growcer is committed to progressing the path of Reconciliation in a deeply meaningful way, in partnership with Indigenous and First Nations Peoples, and is dedicated to fulfilling our role and responsibilities in this regard.
The Community Development Project Specialist (Sales Enablement Support) works closely with community champions and leadership to turn plans into action across multiple Indigenous and Tribal Nation opportunities.
Working as part of a three-person pod—Business Development (initiating discussions), Account Executive (confirming community vision, project scope, and engagement), and you (coordinating next steps to prepare the community for the project)—this role orchestrates meetings, planning, and resources to keep every account moving forward.
You'll manage 40+ active accounts in the CRM, circulate timely recap notes and follow-ups, maintain ongoing communication with community stakeholders, prepare proposals, track funding windows, and prepare communities for funding applications, and manage risks. You'll also support conferences (pre-event outreach, on-site notes, post-event follow-ups) and liaise with Operations, Grant Writing, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal to assemble quotes, MoUs, DCRs/BCRs, feasibility studies, and business plan packages.
The ideal candidate is an ultra-organized communicator who is culturally respectful, thrives in a fast-moving, consultative environment, and is comfortable traveling 25–40% across Canada and the USA to support community meetings and events.
Growcer is dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you feel you need accommodation(s) because of illness, disability, or other special needs at any time during the recruitment process, please contact careers@thegrowcer.ca.
