About the job

Within Global Partnerships, the Strategic Alliances team has a unique mandate, focused on a short list of Google’s largest and most complex partners. The team is responsible for understanding both the partners’ and Google’s strategic priorities, and developing cross‑functional plans to ensure optimal outcomes.

Google’s relationships with Global Strategic Alliances are increasingly complex as they evolve to include multiple partnerships, policies, competitive, and other business dimensions. The Global Strategic Alliances team’s mandate is to work internally across all the business and functional teams that interface with Google’s most complex partners to help shape a cohesive cross‑product area engagement strategy for Google.

As a Global Top Partner Manager, you will lead the cross‑Google strategy for a set of strategic partners in the Telco industry. You will also develop subject matter expertise in the Telco industry and share best practices that address challenges and opportunities for Telcos globally with cross‑Google stakeholders.

As a trusted thought partner, you will challenge, advise, and support our business and product teams to optimize Google’s partner engagements and develop strategies to ensure Google’s success in an increasingly competitive landscape. You will develop insightful and actionable recommendations to senior Google executives.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product‑enabling partnerships, go‑to‑market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The Canada base salary range for this full‑time position is CAD 154,000-158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Please note that the compensation details listed in Canada role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities
  • Orchestrate partnership strategy for a set of Telco partners internally across BD, Product, Legal, and other cross‑functional stakeholders. Drive cross‑Google alignment to ensure fluid communication and successful landing of multi‑faceted initiatives and develop compelling engagement strategies and briefings for Google’s senior executives (VP+).
  • Provide strategic input on new partnership opportunities, contract negotiations, market announcements, and executive decision‑making. Drive consensus on partnership outcomes that balance value and risk.
  • Manage escalations and recommend risk mitigation paths, consulting with BD, legal, competition, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment around executive communications and risk mitigation.
  • Gather data from internal and external sources to become a recognized expert on specific companies in the Telco industry to inform analyses on the potential impact to Google’s business or strategic approach.
  • Lead special projects that address cross‑cutting issues and opportunities impacting Telcos globally.
