NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
The shift pattern for this permanent part-time role is 10/12 hours. As part of an enhanced trauma network in Scotland, the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital has been designated as one of four major trauma centres. We are seeking experienced perioperative staff with expert skills to support this expanding service within the Adult Theatres at QEUH.
We offer opportunities to develop your perioperative skills across a diverse range of cases and specialties. Our education team will support your learning and professional growth in perioperative roles.
You will assess care needs, develop care plans, and evaluate their effectiveness to ensure high-quality patient care within the perioperative department. The role requires initiative, teamwork, and flexibility to work across a seven-day service, including out-of-hours shifts.
The South Sector Theatres participate in a perioperative dual training programme supported by the GGC Centre of Clinical Perioperative Excellence. Post-registration education is provided by the perioperative education teams, with access to relevant training and development.
Engagement in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde South Sector may be necessary. Evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration and PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check are required prior to start.
