The Federal Work Study student provides administrative assistance to the student accounts, financial aid, education, or career services departments.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist with student accounts, financial aid, education, or career services tasks as assigned.

Student Accounts:

• Create and type correspondence.
• Prepare and mail financial aid packets.
• Set up appointments for the Director of Financial Aid.
• Assist in setting up and developing student workshops.
• Assist in making ID cards.
• Monitor supply inventory for machines used by the student population.
• Set up appointments for the Director of Career Services.
• Assist in setting up and developing career fairs.
• Assist with on-campus activities related to clubs, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Maintain open communication with supervisor.
• Follow directions and work under deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Possess basic office skills.
• Be computer literate.

Credentials and Experience:

• Meet specified academic and financial aid criteria.
• Meet Department of Education Federal Work Study eligibility requirements.
• Be enrolled at Platt College.

Note: FWS students missing school for any reason are not eligible to work on the same day.

Minimum GPA: 2.5 or higher.
