A public educational institution in Southwestern Ontario is seeking qualified candidates for French-language program delivery. Applicants must demonstrate ability in the FSL curriculum and submit a Criminal Record Check before employment. The institution emphasizes equity and encourages applications from marginalized groups.
French‑language program delivery and assessment in a FSL curriculum require demonstration of FSL Part 1 qualification and the demonstrated ability to deliver and assess a French program curriculum.
Applicants are open to candidates who are not on the WRDSB occasional teacher roster. Current roster members must apply to the internal posting. Candidates who are currently enrolled in or mid‑course are not eligible to apply. Qualified applicants may apply to this vacancy; the Human Resources Department forwards all eligible applications to the Principal, who screens and selects applicants per the board policy. No response is guaranteed from Human Resources or the Principal for each applicant.
As a condition of employment you are required to submit a Criminal Record Check (CRC) that is acceptable to the board. The original CRC must be received before employment can begin; the board does not assume any costs associated with the CRC. The board is not responsible for costs after the check. All applications are accessed only through the Apply to Education website; no application packages are to be sent to the board office.
Term of assignment(s) is subject to change with appropriate notice. Long‑term occasional teachers for assignments greater than eighty (80) instructional days or four (4) months in duration are eligible for up to five (5) full unpaid days per school year. Assignments greater than thirty (30) instructional days but less than eighty (80) instructional days are eligible for one (1) unpaid day during the term of the assignment. Unpaid days must be requested through Human Resources Services in accordance with timelines outlined in the Collective Agreement. These days cannot be granted to extend December or March breaks and cannot be split into partial days.
Pay for a teaching position at the WRDSB is in alignment with the terms of the Central Agreement with ETFO. Pay is based on QECO qualifications and years of experience, as approved by the board, and outlined in the relevant documents.
The Waterloo Region District School Board is committed to equity in employment. We actively encourage applications from members of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity, including:
We will make any appropriate accommodation based on any human rights protected grounds, to support candidate participation in the hiring process.
