Salary: $44.66 to $56.30 per hour

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the IMIT and Clinical Engineering Manager, the Charge Biomedical Technologist plans, coordinates, facilitates and implements the daily technical support requirements for the Clinical Programs and Diagnostic Imaging Service at the Brockville General Hospital. The Charge Technologist, when necessary, will assist in the clinical equipment technology acquisition, organize interdisciplinary medical device projects, and assist the IMIT and Clinical Engineering Manager with administrative duties as appropriate. The incumbent will also be expected to be a technical and leadership resource to both technical and clinical teams with regard to medical devices and adherence to BGH and Clinical Engineering policies.

Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the BGH strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • 3-year Biomedical Technologist diploma from accredited college or Bachelors of Technology Management degree or Clinical Engineering degree preferred
  • Electronics, electrical or instrumentation Engineering technology diploma
  • Canadian Biomedical Engineering Certification CBET(c) is an asset.
  • 5 years recent experience as a biomedical technologist.
  • Experienced in the use of computers in a Windows environment such as spreadsheet applications and computerized databases.
  • Experienced with microcomputer hardware and their application programs, including enhanced knowledge of clinical networks and their application, system architecture, network topologies, and computer operating systems.

  • Demonstrated technical intuition and highly developed problem-solving skills.
