Location: Anywhere in the U.S. mainland. Eastern U.S. preferred. Working remotely with travel to project sites required.

ECC is seeking an Associate Environmental Scientist (or Geologist / Engineer discipline) for office and field work with our Environmental group. Qualified candidates should have experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, scientific analysis, field engineering support, or quality control. You must be able and willing to travel to project sites as needed, ECC covers the cost of travel expenses. This office and field position is primarily responsible for helping plan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and engineering services to fully address the scope of work on environmental remediation and hazardous waste management projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. In this position, you will:

1. Consult and collaborate work with Project Manager, Superintendent, as well as Health and Safety, Quality Control, Project Controls, Estimating, and Contracts representatives to properly plan, coordinate and ensure progress of deliverables per the approved budget and schedule
2. Select and apply appropriate environmental technologies and cost-effective solutions to remediate or remove contaminants and meet project objectives.
3. Plan, prepare, review, and issue project and field submittals within approved budget including but not limited to work plans, design documents, analytical reports, field submittals, operation & maintenance reports, closure reports.
4. Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes and standards, national/ local standards, and company SOPs.
5. Identify, address and communicate technical, operational and business risks relevant to the selected project approach and technology to the Project Manager
6. Author RFQs and assist in procurement and selection of technical and specialty subcontractors, consultants and service providers to accomplish scope of work
7. Report to the field to perform, observe and/or inspect fieldwork
8. Review work of personnel, subcontractors and consultants to ensure compliance with approved plans and acceptable tolerances.
9. Ensure that appropriate and required testing is completed by qualified personnel using properly calibrated equipment
10. Evaluate, review, monitor and document results and help make necessary decisions/ adjustments to procedures
11. Complete related documentation (field reports, logs, meeting minutes, online submittal sites), in a timely and accurate manner.
12. Investigate and recommend solutions in response to field changes, RFIs, and resolve fieldwork issues related to quality, technology, installed equipment, and operation
13. In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position

• Skilled in achieving project objectives by properly reviewing/ inspecting work for adherence to approved technical plans, drawings and specifications
• Demonstrated knowledge applying scientific standards of practice and regulatory codes and standards to environmental and field techniques
• Proven knowledge in reading and comprehending client requirements, technical plans, specifications, and related technical documentation
• Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors
• Ability to mentor and guide team members and share lessons learned
• Dedicated to remaining abreast of technology developments and industry trends
• Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
• Three years of progressively responsible experience performing in-situ or ex-situ environmental systems design, scientific analysis, field engineering support, or quality control on environmental remediation or hazardous waste management projects
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Life, Earth or Natural Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field is required for this position. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

• Master's degree in Life, Earth or Natural Sciences or Engineering
• Engineering, or environmental credential (e.g., EIT, EPI, PE, PG)
• HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification and 8 Hour Refresher
• USACE Contractor Quality Management for Contractors certification
• Two years of field support
• US Government contracting experience
• Active membership in professional organizations

ECC targeted base salary range is $70,000 to $90,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
