A women's advocacy organization in Brandon is seeking a part-time Gender-Based Violence Counsellor (Spanish Speaking) to provide trauma-informed counseling and advocacy. The Counsellor will create a welcoming environment for clients affected by gender-based violence and facilitate wellness and art programming. Ideal candidates should have post-secondary education in counseling or social work, fluency in Spanish, and experience working with diverse populations.
The Western Manitoba Women’s Centre serves women, gender diverse individuals and their children across Western Manitoba with trauma-informed counselling, advocacy, and inclusive programming. Through grassroots connection, community partnerships, and a focus on systemic change, we create safe, empowering spaces where people are seen, supported, and inspired to thrive.
The Western Manitoba Women’s Centre is currently seeking a Gender-Based Violence Counsellor (Spanish Speaking) to fill a part-time term position. The Counsellor will work with women and gender diverse individuals to create a welcoming, low barrier space for clients accessing counselling services related to gender-based violence. The Counsellor will also be responsible for creating and facilitating a variety of wellness and art programming within the counselling program. This is an indefinite term position.
Language Proficiency: Demonstrated fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken)
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
18.75 hours per week. Possibility of more hours depending on the needs of the Centre.
