A technology company located in Ottawa is seeking a Software Engineer II – GIS to develop and enhance GIS applications for public safety agencies. The role involves use of Esri toolsets and open-source technologies. Candidates should have 2–5 years of experience in GIS software development, strong knowledge of Esri tools, and proficiency in C# or JavaScript. Candidates must also be authorized to work in Canada and capable of obtaining a Reliability security clearance.
The Software Engineer II – GIS is an intermediate-level developer responsible for building and enhancing GIS applications that improve situational awareness and operational support for public safety agencies. This role emphasizes hands‑on development with Esri toolsets (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Runtime, etc.) and open‑source technologies such as PostGIS. The position requires software engineering skills to deliver scalable GIS solutions, contribute to enterprise GIS posture, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high‑quality GIS services.
This position requires a security clearance from the Government of Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment.
