About this role

We are recruiting for Security Systems Technicians to join our Victoria, BC, Service team. This position requires you to be a certified Electrician or Security System Technician. Here's how your role will strengthen our team:

• Working on various job sites to install, configure, and commission electrical security, access control, and healthcare systems, including CCTV cameras, video surveillance, access door controls, intrusion detection, nurse call, RTLS, etc.
• Interpreting blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams, and construction documents to ensure correct installations in residential, commercial, and healthcare buildings.
• Responding to customer service calls, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical system problems.
• Working closely with customers to provide ongoing service, repairs, and programming of electrical systems. Maintaining accurate records of installs and service calls.
• Programming and integrating various electrical security and access control systems.
• Training users on product systems (Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon).

Your experience and skills

• Must hold a valid Security Technician Trade Qualification or be a Certified Electrician with experience in installing security or healthcare technologies.
• Experience working on active construction sites.
• Hold a valid Security Alarm Installer License or be willing to obtain one.
• Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting security technologies, access control, CCTV, intrusion/burglar alarms, RTLS, patient wandering alerts, networks, and communication electronics.
• Knowledge of product lines such as Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon is preferred.
• Experience with hospital or healthcare construction projects involving healthcare systems (nurse call, patient wandering, RTLS) is a strong asset.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work after hours and be on call.
• Be an active IBEW 230 Union Member or willing to become one.

Salary range: Compensation through the IBEW 230 Collective Agreement, plus benefits and RRSP. Service division employees will be provided with a company service van, cell phone, and clothing.
