A leading global insurance provider is looking for an AVP, Technical Underwriter, to provide underwriting expertise for Middle Markets. The successful candidate will monitor portfolio performance, analyze pricing strategies, and guide business initiatives in a collaborative, hybrid work environment. As a Property Subject Matter Expert, this role will provide technical underwriting expertise and guidance to Middle Market underwriters, to support the achievement of our business strategy. The successful candidate will partner with Middle Market leaders and underwriters to implement and monitor strategic and tactical initiatives to drive the growth of the portfolio to achieve business objectives. The role will implement and communicate underwriting strategy, including guidelines, appetite, product, pricing and process, employing best practices across all regions.

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 8 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience demonstrating strong technical ability across a breadth of industries.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area
AND
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead projects and initiatives
• Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary range provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for roles. Compensation may exceed the range listed based on the evaluation of skillset and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $140,000 - $185,000.
