A premier utility contractor in Central Ontario is seeking Powerline Technician Apprentices for a multi-year distribution project. The role involves assisting with the installation of electrical distribution facilities and requires enrollment as a PLT apprentice. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be open to various shift patterns. This position is unionized with benefits provided. Candidates must also be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Must be enrolled, or eligible to enroll, as a PLT apprentice.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to provide an acceptable Drivers Abstract.
  • Willingness to work away from home and a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation and inspection of electrical distribution facilities.
  • Climb and work from heights and parallel to energized circuits.
  • Erect and maintain poles, towers, and guy wires.

Skills

Knowledge of trade safety practices
Ability to operate line trucks

Education

Enrolled in PLT apprenticeship
