An educational institution is seeking a relief on-call Janitor for its Fort St. John campus. This role involves performing various cleaning duties including vacuuming, floor washing, and managing supplies. Candidates should have custodial training and demonstrate effective communication skills. The position may require up to 7 hours of service per day and will cover for sick days and special events.
Term of App't: Relief, on call when needed up to a maximum of 7 hours per day.
Start date: To be determined
Reporting to: Manager of Facilities
Salary: Classification 5 ($25.02 - $25.80 per hour), as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.58/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.
We are in search of a relief on-call Janitor for our Fort St. John campus. The shifts would be a maximum of 7 hours per day and 35 hours per week. This position will cover sick days, vacation leave, or when the need arises to assist with special events.
Our janitorial staff provide cleaning services such as vacuuming, washing floors and windows, carpet cleaning, emptying garbage, restocking supplies and other janitorial duties for the main campus buildings, outbuildings, and student housing.
Institutional custodial training and experience is preferred. Heavy physical effort is required to operate cleaning equipment (e.g. floor polisher, etc.). Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and have excellent interpersonal skills. Being an effective team member is essential. Current, valid driver's license is an asset.
