Jobbeschreibung
Job Summary:

The Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a radiologist with fellowship training in breast imaging to expand its Community Radiology Division, with a focus on mammography.

Join a collegiate group of 25+ sub-specialized radiologists, who represent the community arm of a large, internationally recognized academic Radiology department. This group provides the main radiology services to Unity-Point Meriter Hospital; A non-profit 448-bed community hospital which provides a complete range of medical and surgical services. Additionally, the Community Radiology division provides radiology services to the adjacent 1. S. Park Clinic, Eastpark Madison Clinic and several smaller community hospitals in southwestern Wisconsin, both on-site and remotely. We work collaboratively with the Breast Imaging section to provide the full spectrum of breast imaging services and procedures at Eastpark Madison Clinic.

Despite its university affiliation, the division's daily workflow more closely resembles that of a general community practice. In distinction to other community practices, however, this position offers unique access to the benefits of university affiliation and state employment. These include the ability to pursue passions in collaborative research or medical education, if desired. As a public employee, hired faculty member will participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System which includes pension benefits and malpractice coverage. This position also comes with a competitive salary and generous retirement options.

We have a single PACS system which connects all campuses including the academic department. Fully functional home workstations are also provided, allowing for remote work.

CHS (Clinical Health Sciences) Track:
The successful applicant will participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

CT (Clinician Teacher) Track:
The successful applicant will provide patient care at UW Health approved locations; participate in resident and medical teaching within the scope of their medical practice.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this position will have fellowship training in breast imaging and bring a willingness to interact closely with our ordering providers during both clinical work and multidisciplinary conferences. Collaboration and teamwork are valued qualities in our practice.

The duties include mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, image-guided localizations, and image-guided breast biopsies. Candidates would spend part of their time working at UW Health Eastpark Medical Center at Integrated Specialty Care for Women working and collaborating with academic breast imagers in addition to residents and fellows. The candidate would practice primarily (greater than 80%) in their subspecialty, with the remaining volume composed primarily of plain films and ultrasound with occasional fluoroscopy, mostly at outreach hospitals. Cross sectional work for this position would be optional depending on the comfort of the candidate. Travel to outreach hospitals (with optional driver service available) to cover mammography services is expected. Candidates would participate in weekend daytime remote coverage of plain films and ultrasound.

Institutional Statement on Diversity:

Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. We value the contributions of each person and respect the profound ways their identity, culture, background, experience, status, abilities, and opinion enrich the university community. We commit ourselves to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and diversity as inextricably linked goals.
