• Contribute to the environmental management of large infrastructure projects across Canada.

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

• Conduct environmental and civil inspections on a variety of construction projects across Ontario (focused in GTA area).

• Complete on-site sediment and erosion control inspection at large infrastructure, municipal and residential construction sites.

• Support a variety of field-based project tasks including deploying air quality monitors, performing soil sampling, and supporting other disciplines such as ecology and engineering as needed.

• Prepare daily summaries, photo logs and reports on field activities.

• Support topographic and bathymetric surveys using GPS and Total Station.

• Demonstrate problem-solving skills, be a proactive communicator and take initiative.

• Collaborate with private and public sector clients, approval agencies, sub-consultants, and subcontractors.

• Prepare and support preparation of sediment and erosion control plans.

• Engage and liaise with stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, public agencies and regulators, the public and other consultants.

• Coordinate with internal project team across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, and ecologists.

• Support technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates.

• 4-8 years of inspection or environmental compliance experience in a consulting or directly related role.

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental planning, urban planning, geography, environmental science, or a related field.

• Candidates with CAN-CISEC certification or eligibility within 3 months preferred.

• Ability to work on various projects in various sectors (e.g., urban, transportation, infrastructure, oil and gas, wind and hydropower).

• Experience engaging with stakeholders including First Nations, municipal governments, conservation authorities and the private sector.

• Strong communication skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders and priorities.

• Strong organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, plan, schedule, and coordinate various activities relating to projects and proposal submissions.

• Familiar with Fisheries Act, Endangered Species Act, Navigation Protection Act, Environmental Protection Act, and other relevant legislation.

• Valid G class driver’s license.

• Experience working with Metrolinx or MTO projects.

• Working experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Technical abilities in the areas of ecological study design and coordination of large field programs.

This is a permanent position with an hourly range of $24.04 - $40.00, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
