A community college in Sarnia is seeking a part-time support staff member to manage lab facilities for various trades. Responsibilities include organizing repairs, assisting faculty, and ensuring safety protocols are followed within the labs. A Trade Certification and 3 years of experience are required for this role. The position offers 24 hours of work per week at an hourly rate of $42.39, contributing to a dynamic learning environment.
This is a regular part-time support staff bargaining unit position reporting to the Dean, School of Applied Science, Engineering, Technology & Trades, working 24 hours per week at an hourly rate of $42.39.
The incumbent plans, develops, tests and implements laboratory procedures. Works in cooperation with the department coordinators of the Steamfitter, Carpentry, Electrical, and Instrumentation programs, and assists with OYAP and SCWI initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting all maintenance, organization, operation, design, installation, and planning of the various shop / lab facilities. They will be responsible for safety within the facilities\' policies. Aids students in the safe operation of equipment and is in the labs during classes when additional safety support is requested by management. To assist the faculty in lab supervision under the direction of the lab faculty and management.
