Who we're looking for:

A part-time Writer capable of developing original and compelling stories that resonate with the Italian Canadian community across Canada.

What you'll do:

1. Pitch fresh, original stories.
2. Edit, report, and voice stories for our newscast and digital media.
3. Organize material and write engaging, relevant news stories under tight deadlines, adhering to editorial standards.
4. Interview politicians, experts, and community members within the Italian Canadian community nationwide.
5. Translate and repackage stories from various news sources.
6. Generate compelling story ideas and maintain knowledgeable contacts, responding swiftly to breaking news.
7. Create multi-media content.
8. Utilize social media trends to generate stories and ideas.
9. Host the newscast, representing our news team and fostering viewer relationships.
10. Contribute to building a reliable, appealing national newscast that reflects diverse communities.

What you bring:

• Proven journalism and media experience.

• Experience in creating powerful, original stories.
• Understanding of multi-platform coverage.
• Knowledge of Toronto and Canadian cultural and political landscapes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Consistent ability to generate original content ideas.
• Availability for weekend and holiday work.
• Fluency in Italian (oral and written) and professional proficiency in English.
