6 month contract, full-time opportunity

Location: Remote (Canada)

Working hours: Full-time role (40 hours per week) with availability from Monday through Friday EST, with potential for weekend shifts

Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada. PurposeMed\'s office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region which includes the nations of the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda (Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands), and people of the Tsuut\'ina First Nation. Calgary is also home to the historic Northwest Métis and to the Otipemisiwak Métis government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory, Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6.

Who we hope to find:

PurposeMed is looking for a Workforce Coordinator to join the team. In this role, you\'ll contribute meaningfully to delivering healthcare that directly impacts our patients\' well-being. You\'ll coordinate provider schedules, forecast patient demand, and ensure the right clinicians are available at the right time. By monitoring capacity, responding to schedule changes, and optimizing staffing, you\'ll support ongoing care and appointment mix, helping deliver seamless, patient-centered care while supporting our clinical teams. The successful candidate will focus on data entry and coordination within our provider app and will require meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established procedures.

In this role, you\'ll make an impact by:

Ensuring Smooth Scheduling and Coordination

  • Balancing clinical and patient schedules to ensure effective resource management and flexible patient booking options
  • Responding to last-minute scheduling issues and coordinating responses to clinician absences to preserve patient appointments
  • Performing administrative and data entry tasks to support scheduling, patient forecasting, and care delivery processes

Maintaining Accurate and Organized Data Systems

  • Entering data from various sources into designated databases and keeping information up to date
  • Verifying accuracy and completeness of data and rectifying discrepancies
  • Managing electronic files and documents, including clinical availability, appointments, lab results, and referrals

Upholding Standards and Ensuring Compliance

  • Following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and company policies, safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining confidentiality
  • Meeting internal benchmarks and prioritizing patient-centric care while maintaining high standards
We need someone who has:
  • Experience in a workforce management role or executing workforce management processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to multitask with a high level of accuracy across multiple systems
  • Basic computer skills and strong proficiency with spreadsheets and datasets
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to weigh multiple potential solutions and decide the best course by prioritizing critical factors
  • Availability to potentially work on weekends and additional shifts (including some statutory holidays) to provide necessary coverage for patient needs
  • Experience interpreting and understanding data
It would also be great if you have:
  • A basic understanding of healthcare
  • Experience working in a distributed team environment
  • Completion of a medical office administration program or comparable education
  • Prior administrative or customer support experience, ideally including at least 1 year in a medical office or virtual healthcare
Compensation:
  • $50,000 - $55,000 CAD per year, adjusted for contract length
  • The compensation listed above refers to a yearly base salary that may vary based on qualifications, knowledge, competencies, work experience, and other factors including market conditions.
