Job summary

A manufacturing company in Peel Region, Brampton, is seeking a skilled welder to operate welding equipment and interpret blueprints. The ideal candidate should have a secondary school graduation certificate and 2-3 years of relevant experience. This is a permanent full-time position offering $36.00 hourly for 30 to 35 hours per week. The role requires working on-site with the ability to handle heavy loads and operate metal shaping machines. Responsibilities
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • Fit, braze and torch‑straighten metal
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate previously set‑up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Operate previously set‑up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
