Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Web Performance Engineer who ensures optimal speed and responsiveness across web, iOS, and Android platforms by defining and maintaining performance budgets and KPIs. They monitor real-time and synthetic performance data to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement. This role involves troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for slowdowns across frontend, backend, and network layers. The engineer partners with product and engineering teams to build efficient, fast-loading pages and screens while improving caching, content delivery, and asset-loading strategies. They perform performance testing and profiling using tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and platform-specific profilers, and collaborate with API, CDN, and backend teams to enhance overall responsiveness. Additionally, they contribute to automation, observability, and performance-focused CI/CD processes while sharing best practices and recommending tools and architectural improvements.

Skills and Requirements

  • 7+ years experience as a frontend performance engineer
  • Experience with RUM data ( Real User Monitoring data)
  • Experience identifying findings, delivering a solution, and rolling out to production
  • Strong understanding of essential performance metrics and core web vitals (page load, responsiveness, app startup time, frame rate, stability)
  • Experience with debugging tools: Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, WebPageTest

  • Working knowledge of modern web technologies and native mobile app architectures ( how you drive change ) .
  • Experience with CDNs, caching strategies, and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Comfortable working with logs, monitoring tools, and observability platforms.
  • Experience supporting high-traffic ecommerce or similarly large customer-facing systems - Xcode Instruments

  • Experience with web architecture and devops

  • Android Studio Profilers
  • Mobile or platform experience
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and performance automation.
