The Opportunity!

As Vice President of Commercial Operations and EB&R for HUB Canada West, you will support the strategic direction, profitability, and operational excellence of our Commercial Lines and EB&R teams across all five regions. In this role, you will provide exceptional operational and talent management leadership for the Commercial and EB&R teams, lead changes required to optimize our Commercial and EB&R operations infrastructure and processes and serve as a critical partner to our sales and operations teams—driving operational excellence, superior customer experience, and revenue growth.

A day in the life –
  • Lead Commercial and EB&R operations strategy, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop talent and foster a culture of excellence and accountability to enable our people to achieve their highest performance potential and deliver positive client experience.
  • Assist in developing, launching, and implementing consistent practices and procedures for the team.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with finance, product, and operations teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Commercial Sales teams to enable the organization to scale workload capacity.
  • Support HUB’s Commercial and EB&R guidelines and best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of carrier and product changes.
  • Lead the audit process for Commercial and EB&R operations; report on findings, and design and implement corrective action plans with clear accountability to ensure sustainable resolution and adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Create a support structure framework around our growing EB&R practice in line with national initiatives and organizational goals.
What you will bring to our team –
  • 5+ years’ senior management experience in operations, preferably in the Insurance industry.
  • Exceptional teamwork capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership‑oriented, able to stay calm under pressure while balancing critical decision‑making.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and consensus building across diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.
Salary Expectations –

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid‑time‑off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
