A leading veterinary practice in Barrie, Ontario, is offering an externship for students in their final clinical year of veterinary school. The externship provides hands-on experience in gathering patient histories, physical exams, and assisting in surgical procedures, supported by an experienced team of veterinarians. Eligible students will receive a stipend for living expenses, with opportunities to develop both clinical and communication skills in a supportive environment.
We are a busy, full-service, 11-doctor practice in beautiful Barrie, ON.
We have a great team of experienced Veterinarians who are happy to share their knowledge and collaborate.
We have been an AAHA Accredited Hospital for over 25 years and are Fear Free and Feline Friendly Certified.
We see a variety of breeds of dogs and cats, as well as pocket pets and the odd pig!
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in:
Externs will also have opportunities to practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules.
Externships at Allandale Veterinary Hospital are reserved for students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
