The Vehicle and Equipment Repair Technician is located in Meaford at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre and typically reports directly to the Repair Supervisor. Their primary focus is repairing automotive and heavy equipment, small engines, buses and miscellaneous equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues accurately.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Replace or repair defective parts using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Look up and order parts as required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Truck and Coach Technician (preferred) and/or Automotive Service Technician
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid DZ-Class Driver License
  • Clean driving record
  • 2 years’ mechanical experience
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Proficient knowledge and understanding of:

  • Know the correct use, maintenance and safety procedures of the hand tools and powered equipment related to this type of work while applying that knowledge
  • Organization and time management
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (English)
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance

Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects / facilities, in order to provide substantial employment by ensuring compliance with our clients’ mandates, the successful candidate may be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.

Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
