This job is posted as part of our seasonal hiring for Spring/Summer, 2026, and it will be a full‑time seasonal role.

Responsibilities
  • Providing guests with a high-quality interpretative tour experience around the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier.
  • Coordinating guests and tour groups on/off coaches and/or Ice Explorers.
  • Guest surveying and mechanical pre‑trip/post‑trip checks of assigned vehicles.
  • Ensuring the safe and proper operation, care, and upkeep of your daily assigned coach or Ice Explorer, including daily interior/exterior servicing, window cleanliness, and damage prevention.
  • Ensuring passengers remain in safe areas, are properly seated, and that loading/unloading is conducted safely at the coach entrance.
  • Maintaining a rotating cleaning schedule of the transfer bay, washroom, and garbage areas.
  • Supporting colleagues and loading staff with additional interpretive information, managing departures and arrivals, and assisting with loading/unloading of coaches and Ice Explorers.
  • Communicating with co‑workers and management, forwarding observations and comments in a timely fashion.
  • Upholding the high standard of environmental stewardship expected for all employees.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Organization and time‑management skills are a must.
  • A passion for making a difference for each guest and employee.
  • Dedicating to operating safely and reliably during the Class 2 licensing process and while working as a driver.
  • Driving responsibly above all else and adapting to road and weather conditions.
  • A guest‑service‑oriented mindset with a passion for delivering memorable experiences.
  • Ability to think on the fly, solve problems with a positive attitude, and think outside the box.
  • Second language an asset.
  • Fluency in English, able to communicate and comprehend over two‑way radio.
  • Manual dexterity to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch as required.
  • Enjoyment of outdoor work even in challenging mountain weather conditions.
  • Commitment to becoming an interpretive expert and ambassador through a week‑long interpretive training program provided upon hiring.
  • Mature, energetic, dependable, and self‑motivated; enjoys teamwork in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and prepared for all types of weather.
  • Adherence to organizational grooming and appearance standards.

The starting wage for this role is $21.50 per hour.
