Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee

Duties
  • Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth).
  • Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements; provides program oversight and accountability; monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing and that children are supervised at all times.
  • Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions; supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required; ensures timely submission of personnel actions.
  • Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth.
  • Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time; may work in additional CYS facilities to provide management oversight for evening or weekend openings.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para 2, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
  • Must have current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on-the-job competency is required; travel to on and off post locations is required.
  • May be subject to irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
