A leading software company in Canada seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead teams, mentor peers, and deliver scalable software solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with product and design partners to address complex challenges. Harbour Foundations: This team is building the internal foundation for an AI-powered customer journey at Jobber. This team’s mission is to create scalable, intelligent systems that give GTM teams clear, actionable visibility into every AI-driven interaction — enabling more personalized, efficient, and proactive support across the entire customer lifecycle. As our AI footprint grows across Sales, Success, Support, and Onboarding, Harbour serves as the connective tissue that unifies these interactions, eliminates context gaps, and brings clarity to complex customer journeys. By centralizing fragmented tools and surfacing real-time insight into conversations, sentiment, and customer intent, the Harbour team is redefining how we observe, influence, and improve our AI-human hybrid workflows.
As a technical champion and force multiplier, you lead and mentor teams of exceptional engineers while collaborating closely with Product and Design partners to tackle complex technical challenges. Your expertise spans architecture, design, and hands-on coding, allowing you to have a significant impact on the product and our customers. A portion of your time is allocated to Staff Dev Projects, which may include cross-team initiatives, work acceleration within your team, exploration of emerging technologies, addressing technical debt, or investing in the future of engineering at Jobber.
Using our engineering hiring process, we will explore the skills and qualifications you bring and match you with one of the teams currently hiring. Our hiring process includes an interview with a Talent team member (45mins), a Hiring Manager Interview (60mins), a take-home challenge with a follow-up Functional Interview (90mins) and a Senior Leadership Interview (45mins). At Jobber you will choose where you do your most impactful work from. You can work from home across Canada, or in a hybrid setting from one of our offices in Edmonton (HQ) or Toronto.
Compensation and benefits are designed to be transparent and fair. This role has a minimum annual salary of 145,900 CAD, a midpoint of 171,600 CAD, and a maximum of 197,400 CAD, reflecting progression from learning the ropes to excelling.
Base salary is one part of a total compensation package that includes equity rewards, annual health and wellness stipends, retirement savings matching, and a comprehensive health plan. You will have access to a talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for growth.
