Job description
Overview

ECHO has transformed how we manage system health, risk, and preventive maintenance—laying the foundation for a smarter, more resilient future in the nuclear industry. We’re looking for a Staff Developer/Software Architect to help shape what’s next. In this role, you’ll take a systems-level view of ECHO, designing the architecture and infrastructure needed to support its evolution into a scalable SaaS platform. You’ll ensure the product remains functional, secure, and reliable, while enabling rapid development and onboarding of new clients. This is a role for someone who connects the dots between features, systems, and user needs, guiding how the platform is built and scaled, mentoring developers, and delivering a product that will become essential infrastructure for nuclear operators across the globe.

Salary Range: $150-180k (Exact compensation may vary).

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Design and evolve the system architecture with a focus on scalability, multi-tenancy, modularity, and performance as ECHO transitions into a SaaS platform.
  • Lead technical decision-making for platform-wide concerns like client management, data isolation, access control, and observability.
  • Provide architectural oversight across product areas to ensure features work cohesively and efficiently within a shared platform.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, and designers to co-create solutions based on real-world user needs and operational complexity.
  • Mentor developers and set engineering standards that promote clean, testable, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Support both front-end and back-end teams, ensuring that UX, performance, and infrastructure evolve together.
  • Drive improvements in DevOps and CI/CD processes, enabling reliable releases and platform stability.
  • Guide API design and system integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity with tools like Maximo and Power BI.
  • Identify and lead platform refactors, shared components, and reusable services that improve maintainability and accelerate delivery.
  • Contribute to the long-term technical vision of ECHO as a secure, flexible, and mission-critical SaaS platform.
What Will Help You Succeed
  • 8–10 years of full stack development experience, with a strong foundation in architectural design and scalable platform development.
  • Proven success building or evolving a SaaS product, including knowledge of multi-tenant systems, tenant onboarding, data partitioning, and secure deployment patterns.
  • Experience with API development, systems integration, and relational databases (especially PostgreSQL).
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, infrastructure-as-code, and agile product delivery.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to raise the bar across a growing engineering team.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a user-first mindset, especially in high-impact industries like energy or infrastructure.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience working with Maximo, ACE, or other enterprise asset management tools.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms used by technical teams.
  • Experience integrating OpenAI or other LLM-based tools into enterprise workflows.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and operational challenges in nuclear or other safety-critical industries.
