A specialty manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Painter for a full-time position in Surrey. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality spray painting of cabinetry components while adhering to safety standards. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints according to a formula.
  • Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Mark, record and report defects.
  • Prepare the work-site.
  • Signal equipment and line operators for alignment and adjustment.
  • Operate air monitoring devices in confined spaces.
  • Load, unload, and distribute materials based on project plans.

Job description

We are looking for people interested in learning and developing their careers in light, wood finishing manufacturing company for our client located inSurrey.

This is a permanent full-time position with a company that was founded in 1971 and just recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Our client provides Western Canada with high-quality semi custom cabinets.

The painter will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are sprayed consistently and high quality in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities will also include identification and discharging of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, cleaning and maintaining painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and PPE.

You will:

  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints using paint mixing equipment according to a pre-determined formula
  • Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat large items with protective or decorative coatings.
  • Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.
  • Mark, record and report defects.
  • Clean and perform preparation of work-site.
  • Signal equipment and line operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Operate, read, and maintain air monitoring and other sampling devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.

You have:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Experience in cabinetry is a asset.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Painter.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
